“Behind distractions, there is Hope”

“Behind distractions, there is Hope”

I love that Genesis 1: 27 says that God created man in his own image; this means that we all have God’s DNA. My two friends, Mahlet, Teresa and I went to evangelise this week, and God was reminding us of his character.

We are created in the image of God; that’s why there is a part of us that knows that Jesus is Lord. Distractions of this world are temporary because It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how many drugs you take, there is always going to be a void inside. And that void can only be filled with the love of God.

Romans 4: 11 says:
“He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well”

Abraham received righteousness because he believed in God and had faith. This is an amazing message of hope to know that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ alone. We are all sinners, but we are also sons and daughters of the King, and we can only receive salvation when we believe that Jesus Christ died and resurrected to save us from our sins and unbelief.

People we spoke to felt like either their sins were too big to be loved by God, or they couldn’t decide whether to follow God or their own minds. That is already good news to know that we all have the truth in us whether we are Christians or not

Hebrews 11:1 says that “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Faith is thoughts and actions that lack reason but trusting in what we can’t prove. That sentence sounds crazy in this new era of reasoning everything. We are stuck between the truth and our minds because we are reasoning the truth about God to find reasons to believe. By reasoning God’s truth using human knowledge, we suppress the truth about Jesus and miss out on the privilege to enjoy the presence of God in our lives.

Hence, our job as believers is to be able to connect the world to their true selves that they have been suppressing. Sharing the word of God will bring life in many dead cities.
“There is no method to share the word of God; the method is just listening to the Holy Spirit” Teresa
