2 Samuel 15:26 But if he says, ‘I am not pleased with you,’ then I am ready; let him do to me whatever seems good to him. (NIV)
One of my fears growing up was disappointing my parents. I tried to do everything to honour them. However, despite my & my parent’s efforts, I still did things they weren’t and still aren’t very pleased with, like getting piercings!
On the other hand, disobeying God has much more life-threatening consequences like death (Romans 6:23). It hurts the soul to know that our Lord and saviour is not pleased with our actions. A Christian walk is a life fully surrendered to our Lord Jesus, which means dying to our will and choosing to belong to Christ.
If you like me, find yourself in a place where you know Jesus can for sure say: “I am not pleased with you”; it could be because of your behaviour, speech, busyness, you name it…let’s all learn from King David today! David said. I am ready; let him do to me whatever seems good to him.
Can you say the same about your life or your circumstances? Can you repent and let all go for Christ? Well, I hope you do. My prayer will be that we can all wait on God to live in a confident expectation and anticipation of God’s actions. Let’s refuse to go before God trying to solve our problems with our own strengths because “God knows where are the emergencies in your life.” Trust Him!
Moreover, as you surrender to God, don’t be discouraged when you fall for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again (Proverbs 24:16). Stand up again and again and again! Jesus is there with you.
